"He was a part of the Moreno Valley band Ovid for years, with Lance Coronado, Junior Espaderos and Andrew Coronado. Garcia played guitar and brought his unique vocal sound that had hints of rock, pop and R&B to the modern rock band."
This pre-Idol performance, filmed in black and white, has a very old-fashioned vibe to it.

Katie Stevens and Andrew Garcia on Wendy William Show, Katie sings “Big Girls Don’t Cry”
American Idol Season 9 Top 9 contestants Andrew Garcia and Katie Stevens are interviewed on the Wendy William Show after their rare double elimination from Idol.
Normally, only one Idol hopeful leaves the show each week. Except that the previous week, crooner Michael Lynche had the lowest number of votes, and should have been sent home. But after Michael gave a moving performance of Maxwell
's version of Kate Bush
's "This Woman's Work", the judges used the one 'save' of the season and allowed Big Mike to stay. Since no one went home that week, the contestants with the two lowest number of votes, Katie and Andrew, had to go the following week.
